About The Caregiving Kids Series
TM

The Caregiving Kids Series was born from the author’s experience. The series will
challenge the culture and belief systems of those who wish to throw away and dishonor
our older adults.

Clarissa Fells Smith was a young occupational therapist who began practicing in communities, nursing homes, and healthcare facilities. The author was exposed to caring for elders as a young child. Clarissa Fells Smith was always emotionally disturbed about witnessing so much direct elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation of the elderly. Four decades later, the author decided to do something globally to affect change.
The purpose of the books is to affect young readers directly and to make a difference by dispelling the myths and stereotypes of aging. Research in the series revealed that Instilling empathy, compassion, honor, and respect in older adults must begin early.
The books are designed to expose young readers to the wisdom and experience of growing older. Through humor and education, we will help children understand the challenges and blessings of becoming older. The author believes that children and older adults can learn from each other.
